Trying Out Posterous
So, I have had a Posterous site for a while. I try to jump on any newer social networks and grab the “inworship” name before someone else does
Anyway, if you’re not familiar, Posterous is a simple blogging tool that allows you to quickly and simply add online content to your life feed. This content is then linked to all your networks. For me, all my Posterous posts will go to Flickr, Twitter and my Blog.
This week, Posterous released an iPhone app which makes me happy. It allows me to take pictures or video, then attach them with content to a Posterous post which will then update Flickr, Twitter and my Blog. Brilliant! There are some other apps that allow similar things to happen, but I like the look and feel of Posterous and will enjoy having everything archived there.
So, this post is a test of the Posterous site as well as an opportunity to let you know about it, if you haven’t already dug into it.

I’ve not gotten on the bandwagon yet, but guess I’ll check it out. Sometimes the over redundancy has to be managed, ie. if I use posterous to post to my blog and twitter, I want to be sure that my blog post doesn’t also notify twitter, hence, a double tweet. (I already have that problem with the su.pr and twitter tools plugin that i’m trying to negotiate!)

I agree Fred. I don’t have any auto services attached to my blog. And I also won’t be using this except to update to everything at once. There will be many things I just blog about and twitter about. Thought this would be a good resource for trips or events. things like that.
Who knows, by the end of the week, I may hate it
I’ve been trying out posterous, and I have mostly liked it. I really enjoy the photo gallery that is created when more than one picture is uploaded. I’ve wished for the ability to send more than one pic at a time from my iphone to posterous so the gallery can be created without having to connect the phone to my computer. I haven’t played around with the new iphone app, but I think it addresses this issue. I also really really REALLY wish I could add descriptions to multiple pics, send them to posterous where they form a gallery, and in flickr or facebook the descriptions stay with the pics. As far as I can tell, it doesn’t work that way. If you add descriptions to multiple pics, each pic forms a separate post on posterous.
But still… I mostly like it. Let me know if you figure out any great tricks!

Cool, thanks for the tips. I think it will work for what i am looking to do. if not, I can use Pixelpipe to do the same thing and I love Pixelpipe.
Actually, now that you are telling me about your experiences, I am wondering if Pixelpipe would work better for what I want to do. I am not interested in multiple pics for an album (at least I don’t think I am) and that seems to be the only difference at this point,
Oh well, Thanks
Hmm, I just heard about Posterous today from Tim Ferriss. I don’t quite know what it is yet, and I’m still bogged down with the social networking sites I already use–is Posterous anything special or just a way to link different feeds into one place?
I’ll probably end up setting up a Posterous account for LoopingWorship, but the question I keep wondering about is “how much social networking is TOO much?”
