In the 70's in midtown (Gold coast) close to the city hall then. There was a diner, umm Sal's I think that served the best steamed clams and garlic toast. My grandpa would pack us up in his station wagon with the backwards seat in the back with paneling and take us to this area of beach pictured. I don't remember how long it took or why it stands out, but Brent I remember those bucket of clams. Food is a priority!

My grandpa always made me to believe that they were created on "mamas" rock out there somewhere.
I am not sure where you guys are but this brought a flush of memories that it touched me enough to tear up. As far as I know this could be Coos Bay or Lincoln City..

But tonight I remember Sals in Gold beach.

I'm laughing right now at the slurps from gram as she ate the clams. seems like yesterday.

Be safe... enjoy.. refuel.. and rejoice!
