I like this alot more than the previous theme…if i remember correctly what it looked like. I read so many blogs i lose track, oh well. I like it alot though
Speaking of ^doghouse^ – aren’t you supposed to be working on your wife’s blog???

And she needs you. You make her a better blogger…
I like the bird…and everything else, except I’m a little over the banner font just because we use it for nearly every single youth promo material at our church. I wouldn’t be too concerned about that…
Vince, I tried intense, but i didn’t like it. I did turn threading on here though, so conversation can take place in it’s simple form.
Heidi…check out the Flickr feed on the side
Russ, I had them alone for a while, but wanted to integrate a couple of ads as well. The 2 things are not meshing together for me. Gonna have to probably go clean on the links, so they match better.
I have NEVER been (and hope never to be) one who just ‘follows the crowd’.
I liked the last ‘you’ better – felt it suited your personality more – this seems way to ‘bland’. I know it’s not supposed to BE about ‘you’ ( ie less of ‘me’) and maybe you see it as making room for Him – but i don’t get that feel at all.
Your blog should say a little about you – or what you believe in – or what the ‘theme’ will be…i get nothing here?
(Keep the birdie, though)
And what are you gonna do about those distressed icons??? poor little icons.
Love, I want to get 2 things across on my blog. #1 I want people to get to know me. I want people to see pictures, videos, thoughts and so I’ve highlighted them. Great access to Flickr, Vimeo and Twitter. I Twitter more than I blog anyway, so the “bird” is definitely the focus. #2 I want conversation. So, I’ve given people access to talk to me through Twitter, Facebook, Email and comments. I think that each of my designs has had a piece of me in it. This one may not have as much “design” that says…Brent, but I want the content to do that more than the design. Stripping some things away allow other things to come to the forefront. hopefully this will help with that.
Must be my age, and that fact I’ve only been by once before, but I don’t remember what the other one looked like! So, starting from scratch , I like your theme, and the nice big buttons for those of us unwilling to admit they should wear their reading glasses more often. And if twitter’s your focus, keep the birdie!
I feel though that you’ve ’sacrificed’ a little (lot) or your personality for simplicity and ‘content’. Visitors can ’see’ more of you – if they decide to stay and click on the right hand column, but visually (and we are very visual creatures – we either like or don’t like what we see primarily and decide how much attention we will give to something accordingly) there is little to grab a new visitor’s attention or offer an ‘instant’ ‘feel’ of who you are and what you are about.
Sadly these days, many will not hang around if you don’t ‘grab’ them in the first few seconds of contact.
I’m generally a fan of simplicity and not putting too much up as it can confuse issues.. but this i feel may have gone too much that way – just a thought.
And some may not notice that the blue bird of happiness is actually a clickable link – can you make it a ‘gif’ that moves or have a on/offmouseover that shows it is able to be clicked on more?
(i guess the ‘alternate title’ to the icon does that to an extent – but i think he’d be ‘cuter’ if he pecked with his beak if you move your mouse over him)
See, here’s the thing. if you come back every once in a while, I’ll probably change it again anyway. Actually, that probably says more about me than anything I’ve said
The pecking bird sound funny. I’ll have to keep my eye open for one like that!
If you put the original image into a photo-editing software ( i’m not familiar with Apple products so whatever allows you to cut and paste in pics?) and then ‘cut’ the bird off at the legs, rotate his body and head about 90 deg’s or so and stick the body back to the legs and save the new image to a new filename without deleting or overwriting the old one you then have two images that can be placed as ‘Offmouseover’ and ‘Onmouseover’ in your banner/html/css?.
Then when you just move the cursor over him he would appear to ‘peck’
You could also write some text over/under him like: ‘click to follow my tweets’ either in the original image or as a separate text box?
Yo Vinnie! I heard a new song today on my Kindergarden bus..it sooo reminded me of you!
Vinnie Volcano, is my valentine..Oh Vinnie Volcano won’t you be mine..blah blah blah blah…would this make you happy..music or a new video.. hahahahahaha
okay seriously now..is this the best you can do..if soooo then I love it..something tells me that your creative side must be on vacation…just kidding..
Dude I know~ totally strange..yet funny..i am sure it was just the vinny part that made me think of you..btw-63 5-6 year olds singing this song..was killin me..they learn letters that way now..you would think it would at least make sense.. hahaha but hey I am just the driver and it did make me think I haven’t been here for a while bugging you!
I like it
Love the twitter birdie up top!
I like this alot more than the previous theme…if i remember correctly what it looked like. I read so many blogs i lose track, oh well. I like it alot though
It’s more you. I like it better…
I like it okay. I still miss the piano and Bible graphic, but I think this is more “you,” like Gitz said.
I like this a lot man. Great job!
Very cool…super easy to navigate, love the big icons. Nicely done!
full of win.
I like it.

Woo!
Haha, those are 2 cents spent nicely
I love the Bird.
I remember getting connected with you through the weight-loss challenge. You cracked me up!!
I like the simplicity.
Thanks Theresa!
I like it. the bird is both hilarious and a bit disturbing. which is exactly how I feel about twitter on many days.
Yes, Twitter can be quite disturbing. I remember a twitpic with a some feet in it recently
Must be my age, and that fact I’ve only been by once before, but I don’t remember what the other one looked like! So, starting from scratch , I like your theme, and the nice big buttons for those of us unwilling to admit they should wear their reading glasses more often. I definitely wanted big buttons. thanks!
Ok that makes more sense.

oh yeah, LOVE this one. I liked the last one, but this is one is way more awesome!!!
p.s. glad to know I’m not the only blog look change freak
Re: ‘tweetie’
If you put the original image into a photo-editing software ( i’m not familiar with Apple products so whatever allows you to cut and paste in pics?) and then ‘cut’ the bird off at the legs, rotate his body and head about 90 deg’s or so and stick the body back to the legs and save the new image to a new filename without deleting or overwriting the old one you then have two images that can be placed as ‘Offmouseover’ and ‘Onmouseover’ in your banner/html/css?.

You’re welcome

Putting the bird in a box is an improvement… But you still have a cartoon at the top of your blog.
See??
Ok. Here’s why I struggle with it.
1) Yes, it’s a cartoon.
2) It doesn’t fit the font or the wood/dark banner look (which is TOTALLY you).
3) It looks like an ad.
Yes. An ad.
And, really, that’s what it is… An ad for people to follow you on twitter.
So, maybe I should come up with atwitter bird that is more grungy. maybe a punk rocker or a biker bird
And, it is an ad. that is the point!
Come on people it is not like Brent spends anytime here. He likes that Twitter bird better than me anyway!!!
As for Tam and her blog. At least she is consistent.
I don’t like it, and I don’t like you. !!!
Actually, it’s not too bad. I agree with Mandy….the bird is totally gay.
Dude, you love cartoons. admit it
the comments still arent numbered. whats your problem?
your awesome wife´s last blog post…hope flew away…
Ummmmmm…
Tam..He doesn’t spend enough time here to notice your comments.
He mocks me with that twitter bird.

Yo Vinnie! I heard a new song today on my Kindergarden bus..it sooo reminded me of you!
Vinnie Volcano, is my valentine..Oh Vinnie Volcano won’t you be mine..blah blah blah blah…would this make you happy..music or a new video..
