Songs Of The Season
I am probably one of the few (at least from what I’ve been hearing) Worship leaders that actually enjoy music this time of year. I love traditional Christmas tunes, but I do need variety, so we change things up at Table Rock. For the first 3 weeks of December, we have had a lot of variety in our music selection. Christmas eve, is always the more traditional service, as it pertains to music style. But the rest of the month, we spice it up.
Songs we’ve done this season are…
Tell It On The Mountain by Duvall
Joy To The World by Bebo Norman
Gloria by Mercy me
I Heard The Bells by Mercy Me
King Of Angels by Krystal Meyers
Love Came Down At Christmas by Jars Of Clay
All Creation Sings (Joy To The World) by Steve Fee
Little Drummer Boy by Lifechurch.tv
A Baby Changes Everything by Faith Hill
Plus some other, non-Christmas songs that work well with the season. One of which is a great song by Mercy Me called “God With Us”. We hear the word Emmanuel a lot at Christmas. It literally means that God is with us now. God has come to this earth. It is a powerful song and one that our church has really enjoyed. Here are the lyrics.
Who are we that You would be mindful of us
What do You see that’s worth looking our way we are
We are free in ways that we never should be
Sweet release from the grip of these chains
Lord You know our hearts don’t deserve Your glory
Still You show a love we cannot afford
Like hinges straining from the weight
My heart no longer can keep from singing
All that is within me cries
You alone be glorified
Emmanuel God with us
My heart sings a brand new song
The debt is paid these chains are gone
Emmanuel God with us.
Powerful song. amazing promise.
Here is a live version of it from our services yesterday. I just setup the new little Flip Mino HD to capture a stage shot. It’s not a very good angle and I’m not happy with the way this camera recorded sound, but I love that you can hear the people singing. Melts my heart.

If you’d like to listen to the messages from this season at Table Rock, you can recieve via our podcast, or head to our website and listen to them there. We’ve gone through a great series called “The Grinches Who Stole Christmas”. We talked about Greed, Loneliness, Stress and Guilt. It has been powerful.

This makes my heart happier than you know. I miss it. So much!
and I see Tam!

Beautiful song and you can really feel the love of the congregation. The Internet is amazing. You get to share that love with friends like Brandy, in North Dakota, me in Connecticut and anyone from anywhere in the world who wonders in from cyber space.

Great setlist! I love the video! Merry Christmas
We do God With Us as well. We are big on MercyMe at our church. Awesome video. Was that a click track I was hearing? If you run it through the Aviom Hub and take out the return 1/4″ cable, no one will ever hear it in the house. It will terminate before it gets to the FOH.
Good set. Merry Christmas.

that’s a great song. Although it does make me miss singing on the praise team. I feel a little disconnected when I don’t serve in that way. But there’s nothing I can do, they practice on a night that I work.
Loved the other song choices too!
Your new blog set up rocks! (maybe it’s not so new? I haven’t read blogs in quite awhile). I absolutely love worship and always wish it could be longer – with your set up – I can listen again.
Thanks for the list of songs, I don’t always know the names of them and want to try and find them. The video is great… hope that is something you’ll keep doing.
Chills.
Thank you.
Man, very sweet… I really miss you guys. Vanessa and Tam are awesome together. Say hi to Shaun for me… Think about ya’ll ALOT… Thanks for the vid…

Wow, thanks for all the great comments!
Brad, no click track. We actually have never used backing tracks or click. Maybe it was the drummer count off you heard at the intro.
Mandy, get to know this one, cause we will probably do it with you someday
Scott, I will say hey to everyone for ya. We miss you guys. That weekend you were hear was awesome!
Brent, that was hot. That’s such a great song, and you guys did it well. I love the dynamics, especially coming out of the intro. Great job.

Wow, you’re so ‘aglow’ you’re almost invisible (not a bad thing if it’s not just because of the stage lights =).
Yes, another good ‘Emmanuel’ song giving hope for ‘indivisable’ (God with US) as well.
D-
