Quote…

When Christians react to elections with despair and panic, they [demonstrate] that their faith is in the wrong place…Salvation is not something that Caesar holds in his hand, whether to give or withhold.

Thanks to God for His mercy and grace…He has me singing this verse over and over again for He is so patient with us but the clock is ticking! :-)

Psalm 145:8 The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.

The scripture that has been on my mind for so long, and in this quote’s context also, is a familiar but much needed one for us, His people/Temple:

“Then if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and heal their land. I will listen to every prayer made in this place, for I have chosen this Temple and set it apart to be My home forever. My eyes and My heart will always be here.” – 2 Chron 7:13-16 NLT

And then, this morning, this song:

    Thanks for the reminder.

Brent, this is a great post. Isn’t it true? How we respond is a witness/testiment to our faith in GOD. HE is God, we are not. We have the greatest weapon of all! Prayer keeps our minds fixed on the Author and Finisher of our faith. What a blessed position we have been given, and what hope we can offer to those around us.
    Thanks for this post!

    Here’s another cool quote:

“Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and he will commend you.” – the Apostle Paul

Yeah, but just in case I’ve laid in a ton of MREs in the guest room dug out back, under the big brick BBQ pit I built this summer (like the one Ricky and Fred made).

    How true is that!
D – that is the scripture that was going through my head yesterday.

And also this scripture is so good…The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD; He directs it like a watercourse wherever He pleases. Pr. 21:1

Uh, it’s been like four days already. You OK? Nothing to say about the election? Does Tam have you sleeping outside again, away from the computer?

Looking forward to a great family getaway this weekend, but I’ll see if I can’t get something posted up around this place :)
