I Am 70% Adult (I think some would argue against this)

So, I was reading a post over a djchuang’s blog today. It was well written and thought through as his work usually is. It talked of emotional maturity and what that really looks like. I don’t want to re-hash what he’s written, so if you have a moment, go check out his post.

But, there was a little quiz that he linked to in his post and I wanted to pass it along to you. I thought it was interesting. it’s quick, like 10 questions, but here is what I came up with.

You Are 70% Grown Up, 30% Kid
Congratulations, you are definitely quite emotionally mature.

Although you have your moments of moodiness, you’re usually stable and level headed.

So what if you’re not perfect? You accept your faults and try to fix them.

People appreciate your reasoned and calm approach to life.

So how about you? Head over and take the quiz.

Then come back here and tell us, what is your emotional maturity?

I got the same score as you did Brent, 70/30. I actually wouldn’t have minded being more of kid. At 65 I’ll go along with anything that says I am younger.

You Are 90% Grown Up, 10% Kid
Your emotional maturity is fully developed, and you have an excellent grasp on your emotions.
You’re honest, direct, and compassionate. You don’t let a bad mood get the best of you.
People know that they can turn to you in times of trouble. You are stable and smart.
In fact, you are so emotionally mature – you should consider being a therapist!

The maturity quiz seemed silly. But I’m not a vampire!

  8. inWorship October 2, 2008 at 8:55 pm #

Tyler, I can live with that :)

Fred, I am not surprised. we balance each other out dude!

Raquel, come on! I was counting on someone to bring the kid into this. you are an old soul though, I agree.

Ed, I still don’t know hoe my adult side was higher.

Papa, sounds like you don’t believe it. Remind me to always come to you when I need an adult :)

Tawny, I would expect you to be shocked that I was even 70% adult. You see me everyday…you know…Haha!

Bad, that is good to know :) Although, I love vampire movies.

I don’t like this quiz. Mainly because according to this quiz, I’m 60/40. My favorite part of its description? “Whenever you feel yourself acting out, just stop. It’s really that simple.” Yes, quiz, very helpful.

Weird, since most people who know me think I was born middle-aged. Hmm. I guess I have a response to that now, don’t I? :)

Mandy, Haha! The kids rub off. I believe you. I am sorry to hear about your father in law. we will be praying for you guys!

PhototQueen, I guess you could always go back and take the quiz and fudge the answers a bit :)

Papa, I think this quiz misses out on the whole idea of thinking young. You definitely think young!

Great post over at djchuang! I’m looking forward to more of his insights on the subject.

So far, I find his observations much more relevant than the quiz. Yes, I took it, but found a couple of the statements self-contradictory (i.e. how can a Christian, though ‘imperfect’, be “totally okay” with their flaws ?? – physically maybe, but not emotionally or spiritually I’d hope!).

Maybe I’m just not emotionally mature enough to even take the test?!

Anyway, thanks for your help with the drum shield this weekend. It worked well for everyone I think =).

Michelle, I assure you, it is just a quiz. But I am curious why your unhappy.

Rhoy, Haha, what do you normally do :)

    Darla, I adore you!

D, the quiz is pretty irrelevant in my mind, definitely just for fun. DJ’s insights are always very good. He get’s tech oriented a lot, but is always a great read.

Dorothy, you’ll have to prove it now :)

    Photoqueen…Hahaha!!!
