Sunday Setlist #2

It’s School time! Crazy. The Summer flew by for me. Our kids are excited for Tuesday and the first day of school. Kota is starting Middle School and Kass is starting High School. That’s a bit weird.

We talked about families today at church. We talked about all the changes that come this time of year and the opportunity to consider it a new year and start fresh. We had fun bringing football into it. I really appreciated the thoughts on not becoming complacent. Things can sneak up on us and we should be aware of the life around us that God has given us to live. Keep our eyes set on Jesus and keep moving. Another reminder (especially with all my thoughts lately) to not get comfortable.

The band did a great job and as always, I am honored to play and lead with this group.

The highlight this AM during the music time was definitely Jesus Paid It All. We went into this song after coming out of communion. It meant so much more to me as I sang this right after taking communion. We did the Kristian Stanfill version and if you are looking for a great version, grab that one.

Here was the music today…

All Because Of Jesus by Steve Fee
You Never Let Go by Matt & Beth Redman
Mighty To Save by Ben Fielding and Reuben Morgan
My Jesus I Love Thee (Communion) by Adoniram Gordon and William Featherstone
Jesus Paid It All by Elvina Hall and John Grape (Kristian Stanfill Version)
Everlasting God by Brenton Brown and Ken Riley

You can’t go wrong with that set. All really powerful, Christ-centered tunes.

    Brent,
I played almost all of these songs this afternoon. (My family just did some singing at home.) All Because Of Jesus, You Never Let Go, Jesus Paid It All, and Everlasting God are my “go to” songs. I play them all in B (capo 3). Pretty much any time I need to lead some type of spontaneous worship I’ll play these 4 songs.

‘Glad to hear you were able to take communion. It seems most often you have other responsbilities during that time (?).

I miss it now if I go without for just a couple of days =}. It definitely demands being one of those “keep your eyes set on Jesus” times.

I think as we ‘come together’ there (the ‘foot of the cross’), to focus on Him, we can better hear His words spoken to us regarding one another as His Body. (And participate in answering one of His last ‘requests’ as well — Jn. 17:21 =)!

Papa, I am excited for you guys to visit as well. We need to talk about that weekend though. I may not be leading.

I am glad everyone enjoys Jesus Paid It All. It has become one of my favorite tunes.

D, I didn’t take during the services, but did before. As we were singing those songs and spending time together in communion, it really was awesome to go from communion to that song and continue the thought of who He is and He still died for it all.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAAA!! I am laughing so hard right now. haha!!!

Gotta fix those typos. Ya know how it sounds when a rock is in your tire when you’re driving? Annoying. And you speed up just to get it out of your tire and if you don’t it totally bugs you and you even if speeding up doesn’t get it out of your tire you pull over just to get it out? Anyone else do that? No? Just me? Bummer. Anyway, that’s how I feel about the typos.

Off to clean a playroom now. Joy! ;-)
