It Has Begun!
So my son Dakota came home form camp a couple weeks ago with a new crush. He is starting Middle School next year and was worried about leaving a certain someone at his old school. Of course he quickly forgot about his first crush, because he met a new crush at camp 
Well, yesterday we got the call.
“Can Dakota come with our family to go bowling?”
This is his first official, “girl call”. Of course all sorts of feelings pass through my mind. Mostly the fact that he is only 11. But, we were certain that this would be fun for him and his new crush. It’s mostly 2 friends going to hang out anyway. Heck, her whole family is going to be there. So we agreed he could go.
But the funnest part of all of this is that I get to begin a series of posts that will deal with how much I can emberass my kids. All the awkward dates and phone calls and feelings…This is going to be fun!
So to begin, I would like to offer you, the actual phone message from Dakota’s “date”, asking him to go bowling. I can’t listen to this enough. You will love the overly sweet attitude. Adorable!
