By the way, if you or anyone else no how to help me format my posts, that would be great. Ever since I have been self hosted, it freaks out when I put pics in. I’m using Wordpress.
and for the record people…the INSIDE of the house NEVER looks like that (the pic on the left ) no sir! inside is my domain. he’s not even allowed inside
FUNNY!!!!! Sorry B , Tam must of forgot to give you the memo..NO Cleaning before we get there..we are totally cool with what ever is home, and we promise not to blog about it we blog positive things..so everything is do-able!! but nice job on the garage!!
Why is it that we seem to care more that other people might think of us if they see we live in a ‘pig-sty’ than we do about actually LIVING in one????
What does the REALLY say about our own life and sense of who we are?
I am NOT picking on you here Brent – i don’t know of ANYONE who does not do like you have. I just find it quite strange when you look at it from the ‘Oh i cant let people see how i NORMALLY live SO i’ll do what i can’t be bothered doing usually” kind of thinking we all seem to have ( well… not Tam of course – she lives unashamedly in a pristine environment despite the male tendency to ‘offer clean-up possibilities’!)
If you are confortable with your family knowing how ‘organised’ you are then why change it and put up a ‘false’ picture for guests? Why do we ‘all’ do it?
I’m so jealous.
1. B/c you get to meet bloggers. Darla no less!!!!
2. I did a MAJOR cleanup of the garage this weekend too and when I was done I thought “DANG! I soo should have gotten a before picture!”
And yes I said I cleaned out the garage. Jake doesn’t do it right. His idea of a clean garage is to clear a path.
And only b/c I totally do that. No one is allowed in my house for the first time if it’s not clean. And it’s rarely CLEAN clean.
It’s all about first impressions I think. That and you don’t want people to think you don’t value them enough to make things nice and presentable for them.
(long long pause)
Wow, I just realized something in what I wrote. Why don’t I value myself enough to keep things as nice as I would for company?
DANG IT.
I’m gonna stop coming here. And talking to Love. It makes me think too much. Okay, maybe not b/c I totally love both of you.
now, now, now. Brent gives the garage a good overhaul about every 2 months. regardless of company arriving. this was just a good time for this cleaning.
ckroboth, Tam did allude to me staying out there from now on
Darla, it was getting cleaned anyway.
Love, They will see exactly how I live, but they will not see the mess I made last week working on three different projects that needed to get cleaned up anyway. There’s lots of work that has to be continually done. It’s easy to put it off. Friends coming to town is a good incentive to get it done.
But I assure you, they will still see the real us. And the real us is a clean family
Brandy, I think a lot of it has to do with what I just said. It is not that you don’t clean or keep things in order, but there are times that we delay. Friends coming to town is good incentive. Even better is consistency.
hahaha – know the feeling! Nice work – did you do it all by yourself?
CJ Mills’s last blog post…Good News!!!
I actually did CJ

OH! Is that what you’re supposed to do when friends come to town? No wonder no one ever comes to visit me!
Just kidding. Good job, I’m sure you feel relieved getting that chore done.

Thanks tam
I’m allergic to consistant cleaning.
