Black Friday. Drama...
I dont blog often, but felt I wanted to speak to this… Black Friday. The day after Thanksgiving day. We have just spent a day of fellowship, family, friends and a ton of food. We’ve chosen to take a day specifically to say… we are grateful. Then Friday comes and the world falls apart. I know this sounds dramatic, but what I am seeing in the social media world is drama. Last...

20 Years With My Best Friend!
Today, August 18th,  I celebrate 20 years with my best friend! Tammy, I am so grateful to you. For being the amazing woman you are. Strong. Confident. Gentle. Patient. Full of grace. And drop dead gorgeous :) I realized something this year. I know I often say the opposite, but… i DO deserve you. You are the perfect compliment to who I am. Your strengths and passions match so well with my...

A Bit Overwhelmed... In A Good Way
Im sitting in the middle of a Starbucks in Hendersonville, TN. My wife, Tammy wrote an excellent post yesterday that speaks to being here… and yet, not really being here yet. Its definitely a bit bizarre to move across the country and just drop ourselves into a new life. New places. New foods. New roads. New routines. That last one is the biggest for me. I love adventure and change. But, I...

3 Things I Learned While Moving Across The Country
My family and I just spent 5 days on the road moving from Oregon to Tennessee. When I look back on this, I can actually say that it wasn’t that bad. Good conversation. Beautiful scenery. And there is something fun about staying in different states every night. At least for a short period of time. While driving, I had lots of time to think. As I come away from the trip, Im able to look back...

Jesus last words, remind me...
I dont blog much. I used too, but lately have not felt the need or call to speak in this space. But today, as I am reading through the Easter events and soaking in what this weekend means, I feel the need to write out some thoughts. Ive read some incredible posts about what this weekend. Here are just a few… Stuck In Saturday - Pete Wilson Silent Saturday - Alece Ronzino A Holy Week...

It Doesnt Matter...
I went to the gym this morning. It was my usual routine, which ends up with some time on a cardio machine. Its such a great place to zone out and think. I think about family, work, life, future, dreams, failures. You name it. As I was thinking this morning, I found myself evaluating where I am. What I do. How well I do it. After many of these thoughts, I came to conclusions. Ideas of how to move...

NOT the way I planned to spend New Years Day
Last week, I decided on my “One Word” for 2011. If you are not familiar with “One Word”, head over to Alece’s blog and get involved! Essentially, I have chosen one word that will be a focus for me for this year. I settled on the word “Discipline”. Discipline is something I have always struggled with. And unfortunately, discipline permeates every aspect...

A Challenge to Worship Pastors/Leaders
Today, Adam Young of Owl City released a beautiful, simple piano/vocal arrangement of “In Christ Alone”. You can read his post, hear his heart, and listen to the song here. I want to make a challenge to Worship Pastors and Worship leaders… Each week we step on a stage to lead groups of people to the throne of Jesus. Worshipping is far more than the songs we sing, but that is...

So, I decided to jailbreak my iPhone 4...
In the past I had jailbroken my iPhone to allow me to access features that were not available yet. Things like taking video and wallpapers and even tethering back in the day(I dont do this anymore…see final thoughts). As the iPhone has improved, I found less and less reason to jailbreak and I was not going to jailbreak my iPhone 4 at all. But , I still had one thing missing. Google Voice....

Audrey Assad | "Everything Is Yours"
I picked up the new Audrey Assad album yesterday. Its good. When I listen to music, I tend to critique. I tend to pick a part lyrics, chord structure and most of all production/performance. Its easy to do. Most music today is thrown together or rehashed production from another album. I love to listen to music that makes me think less about the production and more about the heart. I love it when...

Final Update On My Dad...For Now...
Today, my Dad left the hospital! It is not without its fears, but there are definitely more celebrations today. This morning, he finally had his MRI. The DR gave him the diagnosis. Multiple Strokes. It is amazing that my Dad is in the condition he is in. Each day, he is regaining use of his arm and DR’s believe he will have a full recovery. There is no permanent brain damage or other issues...

Update #2 On My Dad...
I just want to start again by saying thank you. Your prayers and notes and messages are amazing. So, today there was some frustration, but possible great news as well! My Dad needs an MRI to figure out how much damage was done to his brain, if there is any damage at all. The MRI has been rescheduled 3 times and is now supposed to happen tomorrow am at 8. We are anxious for this.  Now, the...

Update on My Dad...And, Thank You...
First of all, thank you so much for all your amazing prayers and notes and messages. I am overwhelmed. Today, my Dad is suffering from stroke like symptoms. He has lost most the control of his left arm and is struggling with his legs as well. So far they have done a CT scan and Ultrasound. They are planning an MRI in the morning. What they have found is that my Dad’s Coratid Artery is full...

A Warning To iPhone Upgraders...RE: Data Plan
I am upgrading all 4 of our family’s iPhones. We sold our used ones and as of yesterday have upgraded the kids to the 3Gs and on the 15th I will be ordering the 4 for Tammy and me. All of you know about AT&T’s data plan change. They no longer offer an unlimited data option. It is either 2GB a month for $25 or $15 per month for 200MB. Now, if you are an existing iPhone user and...
